  • Self-service password recovery. The login page now offers 'Forgot password?'; entering your email queues a recovery message; the link expires in 30 minutes and works once.

  • Registration, password reset, and password change all share the same minimum-strength rule (8 characters, no composition requirements per current NIST guidance).

  • Registration previously had no minimum password length; a 1-character password would have been accepted.
Notes from the Archivist

The first transactional-email capability for the project. Future features that depend on outbound email — collection sharing, beta announcements, account verification — build on this foundation. The DNS work to legitimately send from cartarch.com (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) is part of this release too.
